Building a Better Nation with Metrobank

In its efforts to foster a better nation, STI College has collaborated with Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) to take part in the Metrobank STRONG Scholarship program. 

92 Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Computer Science (BSCS) students from various STI campuses in Metro Manila will receive a full scholarship from the banking conglomerate.

Our goal in this scholarship is to make you [students] as strong as possible,” Philip Dy, Executive Vice President of MBFI, said during the scholarship awarding ceremony.“This aims to innovatively facilitate a meaningful and seamless transition from enrollment to employment and was forged to empower students holistically,” he added.

Aside from the free quality education and allowances, academic excellence incentives will also be granted to each scholar upon graduation. 

A student with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 90 to 94% in his/her major courses will receive an incentive of Php10,000. A student with a GPA of 95 to 97% will get Php15,000, and a student with 98% or higher will get Php20,000. 

“We believe that having education levels the playing field for everyone,” said Dy. “It’s not just a foundation for every individual’s knowledge, but an equalizer in today’s modern society,Dy said.

Partnerships like this are a testament to STI’s commitment to providing quality education to aspiring professionals in the country. It extends countless opportunities to qualified, deserving, but financially disadvantaged students to give them the best future they can have. 

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome the scholars, STI ESG Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Monico V. Jacob said. “Quality education could not be implemented if we do not have a strong partner, so we are very proud of this relationship with Metrobank,” he added.
