In its ardent efforts to nurture a better society, STI College has reaffirmed its commitment with ABS-CBN in delivering a peaceful, clean, and orderly 2025 Midterm Elections.
Represented by Vice President for Communications Elbert De Guzman, the institution solidified its partnership with the media mogul, alongside government agencies, civic organizations, election watchdogs, news outlets, and universities during a covenant signing event on January 14, 2025.
“Working together, we will build on each other’s strengths and capabilities to help our kababayan through this crucial event. And as partners, we will keep our countrymen informed and ensure that their will is enforced through clean and honest elections,” ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak said during the ceremony.
“Each election is a special moment for our democracy because it is a time when every Filipino is given an equal say in deciding our future. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have,” he added.
Joining Katigbak during the event are ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, Chief Operating Officer for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, and Head of Integrated News Francis Toral.
Since the 1998 national elections, STI and ABS-CBN have been collaborating for various advocacy programs aimed to promote the students’ civic involvement.
“Our institution has always been steadfast in our vision, and for the past Halalan, we have remained committed in our role as an active participant in every election process,” said STI Vice President for Academics Karen Precious Tabije. “We ensure that our students are well-prepared with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions and fulfill their civic responsibilities,” she added.
For this year’s edition of one of the country’s most important events, the media conglomerate’s citizen journalism arm Bayan Mo, iPatrol Mo (BMPM) is planning to tour around schools and hold student-centered workshops like combatting misinformation and election patrolling.
On May 12, 2025, an estimated 68.6 million registered voters are expected to cast their votes in official precincts nationwide.
