As the Department of Education (DepEd) prepares for the opening of the School Year 2023-2024, STI College has emerged as a beacon of support for education through its remarkable participation in the annual Brigada Eskwela.
Held on August 7, 2023 at Tarlac National High School, San Roque in Tarlac City, the national kick-off program was attended by DepEd Secretary VP Sara Duterte, top officials from DepEd - Tarlac Division, representatives from STI College Tarlac, partners, and private institutions among others.
STI College has consistently shown dedication to education and community engagement in the past, and this year's participation in Brigada Eskwela marks yet another milestone in their ongoing efforts to uplift the country's education system.
Together with STI Foundation, STI College mobilized its 63 campuses nationwide and has gone above and beyond in their efforts to support Brigada Eskwela. Through their collective efforts, they have managed to amass an astonishing total of almost PhP1 million pesos, a significant portion of which was contributed in cash and various in-kind donations.
"The commitment shown by STI College in Brigada Eskwela reflects the institution's dedication to the core values of education, community engagement, and social responsibility," Anna Carmela Aquino, STI Foundation Executive Director said in a statement.
By actively participating in this national endeavor, STI College reaffirms its role as a responsible corporate citizen and a catalyst for positive change in the communities they serve.
Apart from financial and in-kind contributions, STI College campuses have also leveraged their expertise and knowledge by organizing workshops and training sessions for teachers and public-school personnel.
"These capacity-building efforts ensure that the impact of Brigada Eskwela extends beyond mere physical improvements, positively affecting the overall learning experience of the students," Aquino added.
The success of STI College in Brigada Eskwela serves as an inspiring example for other schools and private organizations to follow, showcasing the tremendous impact that can be achieved when individuals and institutions work together for a common cause.
Brigada Eskwela has become an essential annual event that rallies various stakeholders, communities, and educational institutions to collaborate in preparing schools for the upcoming academic year.
This year's Brigada Eskwela will run starting August 14 to 19, with the theme, "Bayanihan Para Sa MATATAG na Paaralan."
Just recently, STI College also partnered with DepEd in support of the National Learning Recovery Program through the latter's National Learning Camp (NLC). The program focuses on providing targeted instruction to learners based on their academic needs.
STI College offers its existing program called the STI Career Camp, a free workshop for Grade 10 and Grade 12 students to explore their options for Senior High School or College while getting hands-on experience in their chosen career path. The students may choose from four different camps and modules with topics on entrepreneurship, mobile photography, game development, and baking.
