Vientiane, Laos – Despite stiff competition against Vietnamese contender Phan Hoai Long, Ace Eso, a 1st year IT student of STI College-Shaw, willed his way through a bronze medal in Karatedo at the recently concluded 25th SEA Games.

Headed by Japanese Coach Yusuo Hanzaki, Ace went to Vientiane last December along with other delegates from the Philippine team including Coaches David Lay and Junel Perania with Team Manager Raymund Lee Reyes.

Tagged as the last man standing, Ace brought in the last medal of the Karatedo Philippine team at the close of the competition.

All in all, the Karatedo team finished with one gold medal, courtesy of Marna Pabillore in the 55kg class, two silvers from Rolando Lagman (97kg) and Lutche Metante (68kg), and three bronze medals from Noel Espinosa (Individual kata), Ace Eso, and the men's Kumite team.
