Standing on a 2,632-square-meter lot, the STI Academic Center houses an amphitheater, state-of-the-art gymnasium, highly advanced facilities in Information Technology, Healthcare, Business and Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management along with a Center of Arts for photography, culinary, music, and the performing arts. It is also the home of STI College-Global City.
The establishment of the STI Academic Center is a testament of STI's commitment to provide quality education for the Filipino youth. This is the prime hub of real-life education where technological and academic standards are set, linking more than 100 STI campuses nationwide.
Blessing of the building |
For more than two decades, STI has proven its mettle in the education industry. Its birth on August 21, 1983 also signifies a nation's re-birth with the assassination of Sen. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino. The course of events may seem co-incidental, but it has been the inspiration of STI in being a catalyst of nation development through quality education.
Humble beginnings trace STI as a computer training center with only two branches then. Over the years, STI has transcended to a well-rounded educational institution, providing diverse and ICT-enhanced programs in Information Technology, Business and Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Healthcare and Engineering, in 93 tertiary campuses nationwide.
Today, STI is the only school which has the Enrollment to Employment or E2E System. The E2E System is a complete approach to human resource development, which aims to develop ICT-enabled professionals through innovative learning and career planning methodologies. It covers every student's needs from the time he enrolls in STI up to the moment he applies for a job. STI also takes pride in its standardized curriculum and courseware. This translates to rendering the same high standards of education for all STI students across the country such that academic delivery in STI College Global City is the same as in STI College General Santos.
Expansion becomes inevitable through the establishment of STI Prep School, Grade School and High School. And the latest addition, the STI Center of Arts at STI College-Global City, affirms the growth of STI as it brings forth the significance and many opportunities that the arts has to offer .
In the years to come, STI is certain to continue pursuing only the best for its students. STI's President and CEO, Monico V. Jacob, shares, "as a school, we should keep reinventing ourselves. We have to be in tune with what's required by the industry. We want to provide students with values critical for real life. Our strength is IT, but we also branched out to Nursing, Hotel and Restaurant Services, Education and Business Management because these are what the industry requires."
