Jobapalooza Mobile Caravan to bring jobs closer to seekers at barangay level

STI, together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Manila City government formally launched the Jobapalooza Mobile Caravan recently at the Freedom Hall of the Manila City Hall.

 

 

The Jobapalooza Mobile Caravan is aimed to bring to the barangay level the online registration of graduates and jobseekers and at the same time help employers reach out to more applicants through the biggest and simultaneous nationwide job fair on Labor Day at the SMX Convention Hall.

 

 

Two STI Mobile Schools will be visiting key cities, districts, and barangays in the National Capital Region, Baguio City, and Cagayan de Oro City. The Jobapalooza Caravan schedule is as follows:

Time and venues may change, as such you may refer to your barangay leaders for an update on the schedule of the Mobile Caravan in your areas. Jobseekers residing in areas that will not be part of the caravan may also visit the nearest STI Campus to register for free.

 

An article in the official website of DOLE reads:

 

"The DOLE Chief hailed STI for exercising its corporate social responsibility by providing free services that would help employers and workers find skills and jobs.
"STI is bringing to the grassroots services that facilitate matching of skills and jobs and thus, the employment and economic upliftment of needy workers," Roque said as he urged other firms and organizations to complement such efforts to help workers cope with the global economic crisis which is necessary in the country's survival and recovery from the crisis."

 

The Labor Day Jobapalooza '09 is in partnership with Globe Telecom, Banco de Oro, SM, Jobstreet.com, STI, Philippine Online Chronicles, and the City Government of Manila.

 

Participating trade unions are the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines, Federation of Free Workers, Associated Labor Union, Trade Union of the Philippines and Allied Services, Alliance of Filipino Workers, Philippine Organization of Labor Unions, and the National Association of Trade Union.
