STI Spreads Christmas Cheers to Paaralang Pantao
December 18, 2008
STI Alumni Association, joined by its local chapters in STI College – Fairview, STI College – Pasay, STI College – Novaliches, STI College – Recto, STI College – Caloocan, and the STI Headquarters (STI HQ), spent a meaningful day reaching out to the children of "Paaralang Pantao" in Payatas, Quezon City. Literally meaning Humane School or School of Humanity, the Paaralang Pantao aims to help children who are deprived of formal education.
STI Nursing and Hotel and Restaurant Services student-volunteers, doctors, and STI HQ employees dedicated their quality time with a hearty lunch, medical and dental mission, and gift-giving to the children of Payatas and their families. Around 170 kids were present, and almost 200 STI volunteers participated on this endeavor, headed by STI VP for Academics Mitch M. Andaya, STI VP for School Operations Resty O. Bundoc, STI College – Fairview CEO Rowena R. Basilio, and STI College – Caloocan and Novaliches CEO Walfrido Xavier. Truly, STIers were able to spread the Christmas spirit.
Paaralang Pantao was founded by Leticia B. Reyes in 1987, with only five children then. Now, the school has almost 200 enrollees, ages 3 to 20 years old.
