STI College Receives Prestigious Huawei Global Award

STI College received the prestigious "Huawei 2024 Excellent Global Talent Alliance Partner" at Huawei's Annual Global Partners’ Night event, themed "Grow Together, Win the Intelligent Era," held on September 18, 2024, in Shanghai, China.  

This accolade recognizes the institution's outstanding performance in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) education. STI College is among the top three schools worldwide who were recognized, out of over 2,000 partner schools in Huawei ICT Academies, marking its second global award from the tech giant.

 

The institution earned this honor due to its remarkable achievements, boasting the highest number of active students and teachers on Huawei's learning platform and numerous certifications across various ICT fields.  

Beronika Peña, STI College's Academic Content Development Head for ICT and Engineering, emphasized the significance of their four-year partnership with Huawei. 

"In a span of four years, Huawei has been STI's strongest ally in equipping our students with the skillset the ICT industry needs," she stated in her acceptance speech for the award.  

 

The collaboration has enabled STI College to implement Huawei's learning resources effectively across its 63 campuses. 

"We managed to produce thousands of certified students from our different campuses nationwide,"  Peña added.  

 

Beyond the award ceremony, STI College has actively participated in the Huawei ICT Academy Support Center (IASC) Roundtable on September 21, 2024.  

This platform provided an opportunity for member schools and industry partners to share best practices and suggestions for improvement in crucial areas such as course development and integration, instructor capability development, and the organization of ICT competitions.  

 

"We hope to continuously collaborate with capable and willing partners, combine the capabilities and experience of both parties, dive deep into industry scenarios, and develop tailored solutions that contribute to the successful digital and intelligent transformation of industries,”  Li Peng said at the roundtable.  

As the tech industry continues to evolve, partnerships between STI College and Huawei play a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
