A Showcase of Artistic Mastery in STI Tagisan ng Talino

By: Miguel La Torre , May 30, 2024

After making its triumphant onsite return last year, the STI Tagisan ng Talino (TNT) continues to move forward after holding a successful run of the 2023 National Round at STI College Legazpi in Albay on May 23, 2024.

STIers from eight clusters displayed remarkable will and good sportsmanship in the TNT as they engaged in an all-out battle to finish on top in nine different categories.

Lessons Beyond the Classroom

As a leading provider of quality education in the country, STI College combines traditional learning, hands-on experiences, and character-building activities in its practical programs, aiming to prepare graduates for the future and develop well-rounded individuals.

“The experience for me was very thrilling,” said Caryll Del Rosario, the 2nd Runner-up of the Travelogue competition.“Overall, I’m taking it as an opportunity for me to grow and get better experience,” the Grade 12 Tourism Operations student added.

“Having participated in events such as this both as a spectator and a competitor, I believe these events are essential for aspiring professionals in the sense that it helps bring out the best of their performance under pressure,” said Xellever Miro Abatol, one-third of the STI College Tagum team that brought home the Think Quest plum.

Representing STI College Ortigas-Cainta, Del Rosario dominated the local and cluster rounds of the competition, only falling short of two spots in the national crown

Against all odds, the three Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students banked on the power of friendship to dominate all rounds of the event

True to its mission of nurturing well-rounded individuals, events like the TNT serve as an avenue for students to practice what they learn in the classroom and apply it to the modern world, where everything is within their grasp.

“The TNT serves as a medium for our students to practice the skills they learn in their classrooms,” STI Education Services Group (STI ESG) Assistant Vice President Ferdie T. Dantes said. “It also allows them to connect with other peers over healthy competition that promotes camaraderie and good sportsmanship,” he added.
