GOOGLE @ STI
June 23, 2009
World-renowned brand, Google, recently conducted a Google @ Universities school tour in three campuses in the Philippines including STI College. Dan Delima, a Filipino software engineer based in Google Japan conducted a seminar titled Having Fun with Google Technologies: The Google App Engine from Start to Finish.
STI College students and even faculty members flocked the STI Academic Center for a two-hour talk discussing the technology of Google Application Programmable Interface (API). The talk also served as a primer for Google's newest project – the Google Wave. Attendees of the seminar were very fortunate to have a first crack at Google's upcoming projects, freely ask questions and request for demonstrations from Delima.
Speaker Dan Delima, one of the top engineers of Google, was invited by Google Country Manager Aileen Apolo to conduct the seminar for free to students of Google's partner schools in the Philippines, STI College, the Ateneo de Manila University and the University of the Philippines.
STI College and Google have been partners for two years already. Similar talks and seminars have also been conducted during the annual STI National Youth Convention.
