We turned 33!

October 7, 2016

Now on our 33rd year, we celebrate the talents of STIers all over the country through the launching of our Talent Search 2016!

The festivities were held at Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna where more than 22,000 STIers enjoyed the thrilling rides and cheered at the contenders for this year’s social competition.  What’s new? This time, we had our STIers from the Senior High School join us, and we even reached a bigger audience by sharing all of these and more through Facebook Live!

On September 30, 2016, our students from all corners of the country battled it out for the STI Talent Search 2016 National Finals at the Enchanting Events Place. These competitions featured the best of the best in musicality as young musicians showed their raw talents through the Battle of the Bands competition.

Congratulations to all STI Talent Search 2016 winners! You are all winners in your own right, after having championed in your respective local cluster competitions, coming from as far as Laoag to Zamboanga.

And what’s an event without special guest stars? Various celebrities graced our event including former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Mikee Agustin, ABS-CBN’s all male-dance group Hashtags, and NCAA courtside reporters Martin Antonio and Roxanne Montealegre. We also invited prominent figures as judges for our competitions such as the former bassist of True Faith Bimbo Yance; accomplished singer, songwriter, and TV and radio personality Nina; dancer and theater actress Via Antonio; fashion designer Robert Zamora; actress and flamenco artist Althea Vega; Ms. Teen International 2016 Nicole Magadia; Binibining Pilipinas International 2015 Janicel Lubina; and actor Nicollette Omaña.

We wrapped up the day with stunning fireworks display, but that didn’t mean the end of it. We will continue to showcase the talents and skills of our students in the coming months through our Tagisan ng Talino (TNT) and Tagisan ng Sining (TNS) competitions: ThinkQuest (quiz bee), INTO Programming (computer programming), Stand up & Deliver (impromptu speech), Essay Does It! (essay writing), All in Place (table setting), Worth the Whisk (cake decorating), Chef Xpress (cooking competition), Shutter’s Best (photography), and Music for Reel (music video making). These competitions will be held across the STI Network still in accord with our year-long anniversary celebration.
