STIers Hailed Mr. and Ms. NAASCU 2012

STI bagged the top titles in this year's search for Mr. and Ms. NAASCU 2012 during the opening ceremonies of the 12th season of the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) on August 1, 2012 at the packed Makati Coliseum.

Carlo Tonichi Saldaña, 3rd Year Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management (BSHRM) student of STI College – Global City and Denise Luise Sangalang, 2nd Year Hospitality & Restaurant Services (HRS) student of STI College – Las Piñas were proclaimed Mr. and Ms. NAASCU 2012, besting the other pairs from eight (8) participating schools.

Judging the much-awaited event were Mr. Joemel Castor, Mr. Roger Fortaleza, and Engineer Gilbert Artificio. Also gracing the opening rites were four-time Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Most Valuable Player Mr. Alvin "The Captain" Patrimonio, and PBA Hall of Famer Mr. Avelino "Samboy" Lim, Jr.

The NAASCU, established in 2001, is an athletic association of eight (8) colleges and universities in the Philippines. The 12th Season NAASCU sports events include Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Junior's Basketball, Men's and Women's Volleyball, Track and Field, Table Tennis, Chess, Taekwondo, Swimming, Billiards, Badminton, and Cheerdance.

For the second consecutive season, the NAASCU games will be aired over NET25 every Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
